Environmental Justice (EJ)

Environmental justice is the belief that all people, regardless of race, gender, national origin, or income, should have clean and healthy places in which to live, work, and play.  Environmental benefits should be equally accessible to all; exposure to environmental harms should not target communities through environmental racism or classism.

greenRELAY defines the environment broadly.  Environmental justice involves more than simply clean air and safe water.  Transportation, land use, social services, and other factors all play important roles in shaping our environments.
